Solo dev Game SFML 2D Box2D C++

Context

Space Shooter is a game made in my first year at SAE Institute done in 2 weeks. It was made using SFML for the rendering and Box2D for the physics.

I drew all the pixel art with Piskel by myself for the ships and UI.

It can be downloaded for Windows on my itch.io page, english only.

The game was greatly inspired by Nova Drift. I’ve taken almost everything from it, even some things that wasn’t great like the health bar that are not very visible. I’ve also taken the music and sound effect from this game.

I really like the result, even if I didn’t finish the upgrade part, but it’s clean and simple, I had a lot of fun making it.

IA

I used MidJourney to create the background texture of the game.

Gameplay

You control a spaceship with the mouse, using the left mouse button to speed up in a direction, and shoot with the right mouse button.

You can move outside the screen and come back from the other side.
